printing
Click in the window to make it active before selecting print on your browser. If your print-out runs off the page, try reducing the scale of your print out or choose 'fit to A4 paper'. To find these options, select 'properties': 'effects' in the print window.
downloading
Some of the information on this site is presented as PDF files (portable document format). To view this format you will need the Adobe Acrobat plug-in. If you do not have it, you can download it for free from the Adobe web site.
error messages
Error '404': Whoops, this probably means we have not maintained this part of the site. Please email us and let us know what link you selected so we can fix it. The only way that this could be your mistake is if you typed in an incorrect url in the address/location window.
'Java' error message: This probably means that you have the Java language turned off in your Netscape or Explorer preferences. Or you have an older version (eg. version 3) of a browser.
Other error messages may tell you that you have a missing 'reader' for Acrobat or Microsoft Word documents. These are available for free.
If you get any other inexplicable error messages or problems while using this site, please send us an email. Make sure you let us know which version of browser you are using.

If you click on a hotlinked email address and don't get an email window appearing, you may have this function turned off in your browser. This is common in large organisations. Due to the increasing spam levels and virus attacks all email address are displayed graphically. So you will need to use your email program and type the address.
If you need to look up email addresses, the best screen to go to is the office contact screen or the partner agency screen.
other problems
If the site is slow, this could be because of temporary or physical problems in the telephone lines or other parts of the network. If you find our site is always slower than others, please let us know. You may find some pdf files are slow to download because of their size. As a rough guide, a 1 megabyte file may take 8 minutes to arrive on a home connection.
To get the most out of this site, we recommended that you use the latest version web browser. The most commonly used web browsers are Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. Visit these web sites to download the latest versions for no charge.
